A Day In The Cube World

Today I had a great time exploring the new Cube World. Even though I created the game, It feels like someone else created the World and I discovered many exciting places. Here is another short video with the best moments of my journey.

My problem with this world generator is that currently, everything looks like a big cloud of coloured spheres and flowers. :(
Is this an early stage of what you have in mind?

Woo, checking this page twice a day paid off with some videos =D. Looking nice, I like the art style, not too cloudy in my opinion. Just how the game works out and that will be its unique look.

I'm very interested in the "monsters" and "NPCs" mentioned in the video below this. Can't wait to see what kind of enemies and allies there might be and how the ai is. I love some good ai, as well as you have not shown any enemies except for the troll so far.

Anyway, awesome job still, lookin nice, can't wait to play this hopefully in a few months or so. Not sure how much is done of what you want to do, but it looks like a lot to me. My best guess is still a few months though since things are always changed and added.

The best part of minecraft (sorry, I know you're sick of the comparisons) currently is the world generator. If you can make something better than that (there are so few world generators like this currently it seems almost inevitable you'll innovate in at least one area) then you're on to success.

I'd go so far as to say it's the most important aspect of an adventure game.

I agree with the cloudy world comment, the world is very...spherical.

I like the combat - especially the way enemies fall apart when you defeat them, that's just well done.

I disagree with the cloudy comment i think the large number of spheres nicely balances the fact that the world is made of cubes

Agreed with the above ^
It just adds that sense of it begin a whole new world, something I would just LOVE to explore with friends.

AGAIN!!  Holly SH*T!   This can't be procedural terrain...  and I dont really care if it's not. Bloody beautiful!!  Good work!!

Edit:  People seem to be saying it IS random generated terrain!!  WHHAAA!!

I hope this project kills for sales and encourages all game devs to do amazing experiments like this!  You got my 20$ with that vid!
